What are Beaver Scouts?
Beavers are aged between six and eight years old and make up the youngest section in the Scouting family. We recommend you put your child's name on the "not yet old enough" list places go quite quickly. They move to the next section, Cubs, around their 8th birthday and they usually move up with friends. What Do Beavers Do? They are easily recognised by their turquoise sweatshirts and do lots of fun things such as tent pitching, treasure hunts, sweetie making, learning about healthy eating and bouldering. Beavers undertake several Challenge Badges leading to the Chief Scout's Bronze Award and there are Activity Badges too. Also we take part in activities run by our district such as fun days and Pantomime visits. Nowadays, Beavers can camp overnight so they can join the rest of the Group at camp. Importantly, Beavers have fun and make new friends. To find out more about the Beaver section speak to one of the leaders or contact us by using the form at the top of the page. |
